It focuses on training young boys who live and learn in the Buddhist monastry in former times. It tells them how to conduct their lives in accordance with their duties, ethical and moral principles as stated in the Mangala 38 Buddhist concept. This makes this handbook for novices useful and worthy. The teaching technique is also distinctive. The poet teaches the learners how to distinguish right from wrong and lets them know the purpose, cause and effect of their deed by using the experiences and knowledge he had accumulated to explain his ideas. Thus Suphasit Sisawsat becomes not only a worthy didactic poem but also a cultural record because the ways of life, concepts, beliefs, values and social conditions are vividly detailed, making the work more interesting and worth studying. .
