Sema or the Whirling Dance is a method to attain truth. This method differs from other ideas in Islam. It also interests many people from other religions and cultures because its basic concepts put the emphasis on love, and its practices are related to mysticism which needs mind experience. This method was discovered by Jalaluddin Muhummad Rumi who believes that love will bring peace and will lead humans to the love of Allah, the Ultimate Truth. Moreover, he believes that the person who practices Sema in order to reach the Ultimate Truth will realize the beauty of life and the relation of the universe. That person will have love, not be selfish, and abandon his/her attachment, and then his/her soul will unite with Allah. This idea is the way to express peace. As a result, UNESCO praises Rumi as an important person and approves that Sema is the World Cultural Heritage that should be preserved. Keywords :  Sema, Sufi, Dervish, Dhikr
