The U.S. Constitution, which composes of 7 articles with 27 amendments, was drafted in 1787 and has been effective since 1789. Before it was successfully completed, however, the drafting of the U.S. Constitution had faced problems concerning the suitable form of government caused by contrasting ideas springing from different historical backgrounds and economic interests of the participating states. The success of the U.S. Constitution, as a reason, was the result of great efforts to bring most parties to compromise and agree upon the limitation of the constitution for the country’s best interest. k eywords: The U.S. Constitution, Articles of Confederation, Federalist, Anti-Federalist, Virginia Plan, New Jersey Plan, The Great Compromise
