Based on the theory and research on metacognition, it was found that learning is enhanced when students are encouraged to think about their own learning and to apply what they have learned in their future learning. Assessment as Learning, then, is known as students’ self assessment and peer assessment of their learning processes and progress which occur during learning sessions. There are varieties of strategies and techniques available for teachers to use as tools to stimulate students’ thinking. Teachers should try to integrate Assessment as Learning in their teaching-learning activities in order to help students become more self-directed in their learning. Keywords: Assessment as Learning, learning assessment, self-assessment, peer assessment
